Atlanta, Georgia Jan 7, 2025 (Issuewire.com) - After over a year of development, SCADMC (SCAD Minecraft) has officially launched, offering an innovative and immersive way for SCAD Atlanta students to connect, explore, and play. SCADMC is a groundbreaking Minecraft server featuring a 1:1 recreation of the SCAD Atlanta campus, designed using 3D LIDAR data, satellite imagery, and advanced photogrammetry techniques. The result is a virtual space that perfectly mirrors the real-world campus, creating a seamless blend of creativity and realism.

What sets SCADMC apart is its cutting-edge features. Players can engage with friends using proximity-based voice chat, allowing for authentic interactions as they navigate campus spaces or join in on activities. Beyond exploration, SCADMC offers a wide variety of gameplay options, including an innovative survival mode and over a dozen exclusive minigames. From a dance party with a dynamic floor set to music to team-based challenges, theres something for everyone to enjoy.

Originally sparked by a suggestion on a college social platform, SCADMC quickly grew into a collaborative effort that took 377 days of meticulous development. The projects mission was clear: to create a safe, inclusive virtual environment where SCAD studentsfondly known as Beescould build connections, share experiences, and have fun. The server has been designed to celebrate the unique culture of SCAD, providing a space that feels as creative and vibrant as the students themselves.

With SCADMC, we wanted to create something more than a gameits a space for the SCAD community to come together, whether to relax, play, or explore, says founder/president Aaron Nelson. Its incredible to see the campus come to life in such a unique and interactive way.

Aaron was the perfect student to take on this project because of his past experiences with large-scale Minecraft builds, including recreating Super Nintendo World, contributing to the globally renowned BuildTheEarth project, working on the Wizarding World of Harry Potter with Floo Network, and building for MrBeast Gaming LLC, where his creations were featured in several high-profile videos.
