Toronto Pumpkin Carver advances in Food Network's Halloween Wars.

Frieda Frosbite Freddy Kreuger

But he returned to haunt your dreams.

And now she's back to steal your screams!
Winter has a vicious bite
Revenge best served at 10 degrees"

After facing elimination last week, Halloween Wars team "Scream of the Crop" featuring Toronto pumpkin carver Sarah "Blood Stain" Blostein, claws their way back to win the Freddy Kreuger themed episode with a chilling homage to the horror legend!

In Episode 3 "What Nightmares Are Made Of", teams of food artists are asked to use their skills in cake, sugar, and pumpkin to portray a nightmare come to life! Each team is also given nightmare ingredients such as seaweed, garlic, or ketchup that they must turn into a sweet treat and incorporate a special effect that is integral to their story.

"Scream of the Crop" dreamed up  "Frieda Frostbite", Freddy's Canadian cousin! Frieda went hiking in the snowy mountains with friends only to get lost and freeze to death. She returns from the dead to seek revenge by freezing the breath of her victims and entombing them in the snow. The team pulled inspiration from that Canadian experience of having your breath taken away by a cold gust of wind as well as the myth of the Wendigo, giving Frieda a frozen heart of blown sugar.

Pumpkin carver "Blood Stain" carved pieces of pumpkin and butternut squash to make the snowy mountains with the hands and faces of Frieda's victims protruding from them. She also painted Frieda's body, sculpted by Allstar Captain Kyle Miller, to bring the piece to (after)-life.

For their tasting element, sugar artist Sarah Arnold created finger-shaped toasted ketchup and honey marshmallows filled with a sweet tomato jam. The fingertips were finished with sweet potato "fingernails" of homemade salt and vinegar chips and dusted with Ketchup seasoning powder!  Before serving the judges, they were liquid nitrogen which froze them solid. As the judges bit into the fingers, they got a frosty breath sensation as if Frieda had taken their breath away!

Stay tuned to Food Network on Sunday nights at 9 pm EST to see if this team has what it takes to stay at the top!
